“Art is the expression of a gentle soul and whoever embraces it understands the essence of beauty”.
“The great school of Borgo Orefici is based on this principle – explains Cosimo Caruso, goldsmith and jeweller – and only this way can we take part in a centuries-old tradition that is appreciated all over the world”.
Cosimo Caruso has cultivated his passion for jewellery making since he was young, among the stalls of Piazzetta Orefici, with the same dedication as his father and the previous generations.
The small shop of his grandfather Luigi, who is still remembered today as a great expert in the field and an important goldsmith of Banco di Napoli, really inspired him. Thanks to his father’s teaching, his dreams came true and he became a goldsmith, gaining his customers’ trust and his colleagues’ respect.
His desire to enrich his knowledge and his strong interest in jewellery making led him to New York for a long time, where he perfected his personal style and improved his skills.
Upon returning to Italy, he took some refresher courses about the production of pearls and corals and became a qualified goldsmith, authorised by the court and the prosecutor’s office of Naples.
The store in Piazzetta Orefici managed by Cosimo Caruso grew and became successful. Customers started to appreciate the offer of the esteemed goldsmith and the wide range of products, which reflect the classic and contemporary styles.
The artisan and jeweller of Borgo Orefici of Naples had many goals, but his main one was to faithfully reproduce precious vintage objects, thanks to a meticulous search for authentic pieces of art.
The pieces of art that go from the Baroque to the Deco period are among the most appreciated and sought after. Cherishing the memory and importance of the great Neapolitan jewellery school is a core objective for Caruso Jewellery.
Cosimo’s sons, Vincenzo and Melania, share the same values and commit themselves constantly and with dedication to cultivating their father’s passion, not only by treasuring his experience, but also enriching their knowledge and furthering their studies in the field of jewellery and gemology.
Caruso Jewellery combine the Neapolitan goldsmith tradition and innovation to create new ways of perceiving jewellery and offer their skills to those who consider a jewel as a form of art.
